BERLIN, July 27 -- Sebastian Rode returns to his former club Eintracht Frankfurt after putting pen to paper on a five-year deal, the Bundesliga club confirmed on Saturday.
Rode has spent the last season on loan at Frankfurt and won't return to Borussia Dortmund after both clubs agreed on a permanent contract until June 2024.
"We saw how important Sebastian is for our style of play. Since he joined in the beginning of the year he has become an important cornerstone," Eintracht Frankfurt's sporting director Fredi Bobic said.
The 28-year-old midfielder played for the "Eagles" from 2010 to 2017, where he provided four goals in overall 94 appearances. After two years at the "BVB", Rode returns to Frankfurt to strengthen the defensive midfield.
"I have seen in the last six month how strong Eintracht Frankfurt have developed. I am glad to be part of it," Rode told the club's official homepage. Enditem
