英国学生将从7岁起学外语

Under reforms to the national curriculum, all children in UK will learn a foreign language — whether Mandarin, Latin, Greek or a list of others — beginning at age seven, the Guardian reported.

据英国报道，在全国课程改革的要求下，英国所有的学生将从7岁起学习一门外语，可以是汉语、拉丁语或希腊语。

Pupils will need to be able to speak in sentences, with correct pronunciation, and express simple ideas clearly in another language.

小学生得能用外语说完整的句子，并且发音正确，能清楚表达简单的观点。

They will be expected to develop an understanding of the basic grammar of the language, and be acquainted with songs and poetry.

他们应理解某种外语的基本语法，并熟悉歌曲、诗歌。

In other reforms, children will be encouraged to learn science by studying the natural environment, and schools will be expected to place less emphasis on teaching scientific method.

在其它改革方面，学校将淡化科学方法的传授，应鼓励小孩子通过观察自然来学习科学知识。

In math curriculum, children will be expected to do multiplication and division with large numbers without the use of pen and paper. Pupils in their final year of primary school will be introduced to algebra.

在数学课程方面，孩子们应该不用纸笔便能做多位数乘除法。小学生在小学最后一年开始学习几何。
