BOGOTA, July 2 -- Highly rated winger Luis Diaz is set to join Porto from Junior Barranquilla, the Colombian club's president said on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old Colombia international is expected to complete the transfer this month after the clubs reportedly agreed to a seven million-euro fee.
"We have advanced with the possibility of transferring the player to Porto and we hope that this can end well for the benefit of (everyone)," Junior president Antonio Char told reporters.
It is understood Diaz will undergo a medical this week before the announcement is made official.
Diaz has been capped seven times for Colombia's national team and was a member of the Cafeteros squad that was eliminated from the Copa America in the quarterfinals by Chile on Saturday.
Other Colombians to have represented Porto in recent years include Radamel Falcao, James Rodriguez, Juan Fernando Quintero and Fredy Guarin.
