BELGRADE, June 30 -- Hungary and Serbia advanced to the quarterfinals of the FIBA Women's Eurobasket 2019 from Groups C and D at Sunday's matches.
Final matches of the group stage were held in Serbia and Latvia, which decided the teams that will proceed directly to fight for the continental trophy in quarterfinals.
Although Turkey beat Hungary 59-58, the losing team kept its leading position in Group C with two wins.
Italy eased past Slovenia by 75-57 to finish second in Group C.
Russia's victory over Belarus by 76-62 was enough for the team to stay in the race for the knockouts.
Serbia's win over world's fourth-ranked team Belgium by 70-66 helped the home team to top Group D and qualify to quarterfinals.
Jelena Brooks scored a three pointer in the last second from the middle of the court for Serbia to seal the triumph.
On Tuesday, Italy will face Russia, while Belgium will play against Slovenia. Turkey and Belarus are eliminated.
