世界末日相安无事少年跳河乐极生悲

A teenage boy is believed to have drowned after jumping into a river to celebrate the world not coming to an end after the supposed day of Rapture failed to arrive.

传说中的世界末日过去一切却依旧安然无恙，某男孩为了庆祝跳入河中，结果不慎溺水身亡。

Anthony Thompson from Kalamazoo, Michigan, leapt into the fast-flowing Kalamazoo River with a group of high-spirited friends yesterday evening to mark the passing of the so-called Armageddon, a highly publicized prediction.

昨晚，来自密歇根卡拉马祖的安东尼汤普森和一群兴致高昂的伙伴跳入了水流湍急的卡拉马祖河，以庆祝一个广泛传播的世界末日预言并未实现。

But the celebrations soon turned to heartbreak as the 17-year-old, who could not swim, screamed for help as the strong current swept him away.

Jordan, 15, said he tried to grab hold of his friend, but the current separated them as Anthony was pulled downstream. Jordan yelled as he tried to swim to his friend. But the friends were unable to reach Anthony.

Emergency rescue workers rushed to the scene and searched from the site he jumped in to a mile west. Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller said the search ended around 9pm when it became too dark. Sheriff Fuller said: "We're looking for any possibility that he's alive."

紧急救援人员冲向现场，在安东尼跳水地点向西一英里展开搜寻。卡拉马祖司法长官理查德福勒称因天色太暗，搜索行动于晚上9点结束。他说：“我们已经排除了任何一个生还的可能。”
