BEIJING, Jan. 1 -- Visiting Liaoning edged Beijing 89-86 to earn their 16th straight win in the 27th round of the 2018-2019 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Tuesday night.
Beijing led the game in the first half, before Liaoning tied it 66-66 after the third quarter. Guo Ailun and Li Xiaoxu combined their efforts in the fourth quarter to help Liaoning seal the victory.
Brandon Bass pocketed game-high 24 points for Liaoning, Guo and Lester Hudson added 16 and 14 points respectively.
Aaron Jackson scored team-high 19 points for Beijing, Justin Hamilton and Zhai Xiaochuan had 14 and 13 points apiece.
Darius Adams had a game-high 52 points to help Xinjiang edge off Guangdong 130-126 at home. Although Guangdong led the first quarter 40-28, Xinjiang tried their best to claw back to 65-66 into the second half.
Adams made some three-pointers in the third quarter to lead Xinjiang to turn over the tide and hold the lead till the last whistle.
Yi Jianlian, a former NBA player, pocketed 23 points and 12 rebounds for Guangdong.
Elsewhere, Fujian beat Tongxi 115-101, Jiangsu lost to Guangsha 93-118, Tianjin defeated Shanxi 109-101, Shenzhen nailed down Qingdao 121-105, Guangzhou saw off Sichuan 113-99.
