RABAT, April 26 -- Morocco's Wydad Casablanca defeated Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa 2-1 on Friday night in the first leg of the African Champions League semifinals.
At Complex Moulay Abdellah in Rabat, Salaheddine Saidi gave the hosts an early lead in the 26th minute, but Anele Ngcongca equalized for Sundowns in the 42nd minute.
The second half witnessed Badi Aouk score the second goal for Wydad in the 47th minute.
This match was the seventh meeting between the two sides, with Wydad having won four times and Sundowns only twice.
The two teams shared the same group in this current season and Wydad narrowly edged Sundowns to top the group standings.
The two will meet again next week in Pretoria.
