GUANGZHOU, May 1 -- Alejandro Ferreyra shined as Atletico Madrid beat Guangzhou Evergrande 2-0 here in the Evergrande Cup international U15 championships here on Wednesday.
Ferreyara's powerful shot forced the goalkeeper dropped the ball and Aitor Gismera followed up to open the scoring for Madrid in the 68th minute. In injury time, Marcos Diaz's fine cross find Ferreyara who netted easily to clinch the victory for Madrid.
"It was a tough game. Our opponents created several chances and they have a good defense," Ferreyara said.
The 15-year old, who set Neymar as his role model, was named man of the match after his convincing performance. The left winger was the engine of Madrid's attacking football.
Evergrande U15 team have been trained in Spain for one year and three month. They are receiving high expectation from the club.
"We played well and kept a clean sheet for more than an hour," said Evergrande U15 team coach Diaz Jorge.
"We have been making great progress in Spain, especially in techniques and tactics." He added.
In other matches, Brazlian's Palmeiras stunned Jiangsu Suning 9-0, Ulsan Hyundai from South Korea beat Japanese side Cerezo Osaka 2-1.
