BERLIN, May 2 -- Patrick Herrmann has extended his expiring contract with Borussia Monchengladbach, the Bundesliga outfit confirmed in an official statement on Thursday.
The attacking midfielder has penned a three-year contract extension and will stay with the "Foals" until June 2022.
"I play for Borussia for so long and everyone knows who much my heart is attacked to this club. So I am all the happier that I am allowed to play here for at least three more years," Herrmann told the club's official homepage.
The 28-year-old German international turned professional at his youth club Monchengladbach in 2010 and provided ever since 39 goals in overall 227 appearances.
"Patrick has been with us for eleven years and he has been an important factor in our team for a long time. We are happy that he continues to play for Borussia," sporting director Max Eberl said.
Borussia Monchengladbach sit on the fifth place of the standings. They encounter Hoffenheim at the 32nd round in Bundesliga on Saturday.
