RABAT, Oct. 13 -- Morocco defeated Comoros 1-0 in their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Casablanca Saturday night.
At complex Mohammed V, the Moroccans faced a well organized Comoros team and were able to reach the goal only in the stoppage time.
The goal was scored by Faycal Fajr from a penalty kick in injury time.
The Moroccans performance was significantly impacted by the absence of its playmaker and Ajax star Hakim Ziyech due to injury.
Ziyech will also miss the next encounter between the two sides on Tuesday in the Comoros islands.
In the other game of Group B, Cameroon, who qualify for the Nations Cup automatically as hosts, won 1-0 against Malawi.
After their win, Morocco move to six point in the second place, one point less than Cameroon, while Malawi remain on three points followed by Comoros with one point.
