BERLIN, June 12 -- Striker Nicolai Mueller joined Eintracht Frankfurt from relegated Hamburg on a free transfer, the "Eagles" confirmed in an official statement on Tuesday.
Frankfurt reinforced their offense with the signing of Mueller, who has put pen to paper on a deal until June 2020 with an option for another year.
"Nicolai is an experienced Bundesliga professional who fits perfectly to us. He is fast and can be fielded on several positions," Frankfurt's sporting director Fredi Bobic said.
The 30-year-old striker knows the Bundesliga very well as he played for several clubs. He made a total of 164 top flight appearances and provided 37 goals.
"Today is a great day for me because I have always remained a fan of Eintracht. A lot has developed positively in recent years and I want to make my contribution to further successes," Mueller said.
The "Eagles" completed the Bundesliga season 2017-2018 on the 8th place of the standings. They sensationally clinched the German Cup title after beating German giants Bayern Munich 3-1 in the final.?
