MONTEVIDEO, May 5 -- Club Nacional won Uruguay's first division Apertura tournament on Saturday by coming from behind to defeat Danubio 2-1.
David Terans gave the hosts the lead in the first half before a Gonzalo Bergessio equalizer just after the hour mark.
Sebastian Fernandez struck the winner nine minutes from time by sliding in a first-time shot after Alfonso Espino's cross from the left.
Nacional finished the campaign just two points ahead of rivals Penarol, who overcame Defensor Sporting 4-1 earlier in the day.
The title is Nacional's 12th Uruguayan Apertura triumph. The Uruguayan domestic football calendar also includes the Intermedio and Clausura league tournaments.
