我的父母个子都比较矮小，所以从小就担心我个子不高，于是小时候经常被限制吃各种零食，所谓春节大餐也都是很营养但不是非常好吃的菜，长大结婚后到丈母娘家吃饭见识到了大餐的水准，一顿五个人吃的晚餐可以做到十一二道菜。今年平安夜我还想吃大餐，虽然我不大会做。
1. I wish I had the recipe. 我真希望我有这份菜谱。
2. To slice the tomatoes, chop the onions. 西红柿切片，动词用slice; 而洋葱切片一般用chop，slice一般指薄片。
3. To knead the dough and marinate the meat. 揉面，然后把肉腌上。揉用knead，腌用marinate。
4. Toaster and roaster. 烘箱和烤箱。
这是美国厨房里常用的两种厨具，下图左为toaster，右图为烘箱。中国的加热设施更多是天然气炉子，即gas stove。
5. I’ll unthaw the meat in the microwave.
Unthaw在这里是解冻的意思，有时美国人也用defrost。
我个人平时吃的食物都比较简单，主要是高蛋白高碳水化合物低脂肪，但平安夜就不客气了，放开了吃，因为一年也就吃这么几次。祝大家平安夜和圣诞节快乐！
