Hmmmm...So you're in love... Or you might be looking for a soul mate. Let's talk about love today! Interested? I hope so! I have chosen this subject because I know that most of the readers are young people on this platform and when we're young, we tend to fall in love multiple times during this age. I am going to share a couple of my personal experiences when I tasted this fruit and I hope you'll enjoy reading it. Of course we will learn some new English expressions and phrases along the way as this is our main purpose.
So fasten you seat belts and get ready to take a journey into the magical and mysterious world of LOVE!
Interestingly, I had fallen in love at first sight with my English teacher when I was only in grade seven. Alas! It was only one-sided crush! It never blossomed but withered in a couple of weeks.(Poor me!). I got a crush on my teacher! When you get a crush on someone, your emotions are intense, powerful and crazy....but it doesn't last for long. It's a quick rush of powerful feelings toward somebody for a short time. Love at first sight is a phenomenon that occurs when you look at the opposite sex and think to yourself, " Wow!...She's stunningly gorgeous!" Love at first sight can be for a short time or a long period of time, may be for life time but a crush is always a short term emotion. We get crushes on people many times in life( but only we know it!). Have you got a crush on someone lately?
I personally believe that either you are in love or you are not in love with a particular person or you may be in a process of knowing and understanding each other. English language offers a variety of words i.e. deep love, first love, true love( Is there a false love??), secret love, head over heals in love, madly in love, and platonic love( never knew what that means though). Anyway, whatever kind of love you're in, you've got to be expressive because love demands lots of 'rituals' from kind words to actions and stuff you know.
I Do Not recommend you guys to practice the phrases this time. These words come from the deep down your soul. If you try to memories them and say them to your queen of the heart or in females' case to your MR. RIGHT, you may mess it up. Try to feel them when you read and they will come to you naturally. I think it's more appropriate to write them on a present/gift on occasions.
* I treasure you.
*Life is incomplete without you.
*You take my breath away.
*With you, forever won't be too long.
*To the world's best wife/husband!
*I adore you.
*Sweetheart, you stir my soul.
*I cherish you.
*You turn me on.
*To the one I love.
*We were made for each other.
* You are the one I've always wished for.
Use them wisely according to the situation and see the magic!
Now let's move into 'Flirtatious love' where you will find some humorous phrases. You can memories them and practice them on people you want to flirt with. Here's one such experience for your amusement;
I happened to go to a friends gathering two nights ago and there I found myself sitting next to an attractive American girl. After exchanging a few greetings and making ourselves comfortable with each other, we started telling jokes and talking fun stuff. Having found a space to speak I said, " Let's commit a perfect crime!"
She said, " like what..?"
Me, " I'll steal your heart, and you steal mine."
Humor plays a very important role in social gathering and it makes people around you comfortable. I give you a few funny sentences down below for your amusement;
~Excuse me, can you empty your pockets? I believe you have stolen my heart.
~The spaces between your fingers are meant to be filled with mine.
~Are you tired? Because you've been running through my mind all day.
~If your heart were a prison, I'd like to be sentenced for life.
So my friends, I hope you have enjoyed reading/learning some more of English today.
Catch ya later!
