A tree toad loved a she-toad who lived up in a tree.

He was a two-toed tree toad but a three-toed toad was she.

The two-toed tree toad tried to win the three-toed she-toad's heart, for the two-toed tree toad loved the ground that the three-toed tree toad trod.

But the two-toed tree toad tried in vain.

He couldn't please her whim. From her tree toad bower with her three-toed power the she-toad vetoed him.

一只树蟾蜍爱上另一只住在树上的蟾蜍女郎 …是一只二趾的蟾蜍，而蟾蜍女郎是三趾的。

那只二趾的树蟾蜍尝试夺取三趾蟾蜍女郎的方心，因为二趾蟾蜍喜欢三趾蟾蜍女郎所踩踏的土地。

可是，二趾蟾蜍徒劳无功 …不能满足三趾蟾蜍女郎的心意。

在三趾蟾蜍女郎的卧室，三趾蟾蜍女郎用牠的三趾能力将二趾蟾蜍的念头打消了。
