Part A: Reading Aloud
People in Seattle love coffee. Some say it’s because it often rains in Seattle and people need coffee to be happy. Others say coffee shops are popular because Seattle’s people’s lives are very comfortable and relaxed. In Seattle, people go to coffee shops to talk to friends, read, play games, work on the computer, or relax. Coffee is an important part of people’s lives.
The world’s largest coffee shop chain, Starbucks (星巴克), first opened in Seattle in 1971. But Starbucks is not the only popular coffee shop in the city. Seattle also has many small coffee shops. Everyone has his favorite.

Part C: Story Retelling
This is a story about the dancing monkeys. I do admit it was strange, but it was a true story. It was a fine summer day to visit the zoo, so I packed my things, took up my camera and set out for the zoo. It was a normal day at the zoo. The bears were lazy and were doing nothing impressive. All the big cats, tigers, and lions were just sitting around as if there was nothing better to do. So far it seemed as though there was nothing special.
But things began to change as I reached the monkey cage. Part of the zoo was being rebuilt. It was rather early in the day and the construction workers had just arrived. At that time the monkeys were not very active either. But when one of the construction workers turned on a radio, something special happened. The workers were anywhere from 45 to 50 so they turned on the radio to play 1970s’ disco. The moneys began to move rhythmically and the workers began to laugh when seeing the monkeys’ strange behavior.
Feeling strange, I went to the workers and joined the talk with them. I said to one of them, “I think those monkeys are disco dancing! But can they dance if you change the type of music?” “OK, let’s have a try.” The worker replied and changed the channel to play hip-hop. I almost dropped my camera to see the monkeys performing what appeared to be break dancing! Seeing that, the workers began to cheer the monkeys on. This was unbelievable so I had them change it to a classical music channel. After that, the monkeys began to pair up and do what appeared to be a waltz .
I must say that was the most unforgettable day I had ever spent at the zoo.
