These chefs are from the Canadian Culinary Federation. The group includes some of Canada’s top chefs.
Helping them out in the team are six of the very best Chinese chefs.
It’s the first time in China for the group’s president. He’s impressed by Chinese cooking, and wants to learn more.
And the cross-cultural flavors begin right away.
Despite the different backgrounds, there’s nothing like great food to cross the language barrier.
Steaks, lobsters, and deserts are soon ready to be judged.

Chinese chef Chen Ming said, "We’ve had a lot of good suggestions and new ideas. We’ve gained a lot."
With all ingredients and materials pre-assigned, each team must create 11 cold and hot dishes, plus pastries, within three and a half hours.
For now, the culinary maestros will continue their broiling and brazing battles.
But one thing’s for sure - they’ll all leave the small village of Huaxi with some BIG new ideas.
