大款征婚 亦真亦幻(Multimillionaire Seeks Wife)
Single, white male, handsome, tall and rich seeks woman to marry and start a family.
Too good to be true? Maybe. Still, Janis Spindel, a matchmaker from New York, is on the publicity circuit saying she has got a handsome Detroit multimillionaire looking for a wife. She says she will be in Detroit next week 'tearing the town apart until I find a wife for a really, really handsome, awesome man.'
She says the mystery bachelor is 44 years old and has a preference for American cars. Oh, and did we mention that she says he is a 'multimillionaire.'
This sounds a bit odd for several reasons. First, single, young, attractive rich men rarely have trouble meeting eligible women. Whether they are the right women is another matter.
Second, is he really more likely to find the right woman by advertising 'millionaire seeks bride'? Most high-end dating services pride themselves on their discretion and exclusive network of candidates of both genders. Will an open, national search really produce a higher quality of candidate than Ms. Spindel already has?
Whatever the reasons for the public search, the multimillionaire, according to Spindel, wants the three Bs: beauty, brains and balance. Applicants will need another B, as in bucks. According to the press release, interested women can submit applications to the matchmaker's web site -'for a $25 fee' and women who are chosen to meet the multimillionaire will pay another $50.
Wealth readers, what other qualities do you think millionaires ought to be looking for in a spouse.
