  3.A regard…as…

  6.D 根据后文“when I answered the phone”得出答案。

10.D 根据上句“I thought about my father's success in business and realized that his concern for my financial security lay behind his … morning calls.”

11.D 由前句“When my social style has conflicted with that of my friends,”尤其是conflicted一词的使用决定了作者因自己的社交方式跟朋友的不同而失望(disappointed)。

  12.C 作者的朋友“rarely called,answering my messages with short emails”,其表达关爱的方式与作者不一样,因此,对比其朋友,作者的方式应该是及时(without delay)回电话,而不是“有序”、“轮流”、“毫不费力地”回电话,故排除A、B、D三项。

  13.C 后文“She wasn't a good friend!”

  14.B “My anger… as the holidays approached”与But then…构成转折关系,But then…

have something to stand on表示“有东西可站”。
