Step1:句式感悟
句式1:why not
1why not有三重含义:
①表示对否定陈述的回答“为什么不;为什么是那样?”;
②表示建议“为什么不干……呢?做……如何?”;
③表示同意“当然可以,好啊”。why not跟不带to的动词不定式,用来提出建议,表示“为什么不……”,即Why not do...?=Why don’t/won’t you do...?
2Why do...?用来提出批评,表明做某事是愚蠢的或无意义的。
句式2:“介词+关系代词”引导定语从句
1“介词+关系代词”引导定语从句时,介词的宾语只能用which或whom。“介词+which”在定语从句中作时间、地点、原因状语,相当于关系副词when,where和why。
2“介词(短语)+which”在定语从句中也可以作目的、方式状语。

Step2:语法感悟
A.短语动词--可分为动介结构、动副介结构、动名介结构、动名结构、动副结构
1.动介短语后面必须接宾语,宾语须放在介词后面:look for; turn to; think about
2. 动副介结构短语和动名介短语后接的宾语须放在介词后面:drop in on; pay attention to
3. 动名短语中的名词就是该动词的宾语:make progress, make sense
4. 动副短语后接名词作宾语时,名词可放在二者之间,也可以放在后面,如果代词作宾语,代词必须放在两者中间,不能放在副词后面:give up; hold back; work out; pick up
B.不定代词的用法
Both 表示"两者都....."; either 表示"两者中任何一个"; neither 表示 "两者都不....";
All 表示"三者或三者以上的"; none 表示"三者或三者以上都不"; no 表示"无",主要做定语;
Some : 通常用于肯定句;some后接单数可数名词,表示“某一”等于a certain + 单数可数名词; some 可用于疑问句中,表示盼望得到肯定的答复,或者表示建议、请求、邀请等
Any :多用于否定句、疑问句或条件从句中;用于肯定的陈述句或祈使句中,须重读,意为“任何、无论哪一个”,后接可数名词的单数形式。
Every 表示三者或三者以上的人或物中的“每一个”,强调整体。

China has recently been faced with serious issues of product safety.In Panama,it is said that medicine made with a poisonous chemical sickened some people.A Chinese company had identified it as diethylamide glycol(乙二醇),a lowcost substitute commonly used in automobile antifreeze(防冻剂).
Some countries have banned Chinesemade toothpaste containing diethylamide glycol.China has now told companies to discontinue its use,even though it says the toothpaste is safe. Another industrial chemical,melamine三聚氰胺,was found in wheat flour used to make pet food in North America.Thousands of dogs and cats became sick.
The United States has restricted some imports of Chinese seafood because they contained banned substance.And questions have been raised about other products,including children's toys covered with lead paint.
Chinese officials promised to provide the European Union,the biggest trading partner,with detailed reports on enforcement efforts against unsafe goods.
Meglena Kuneva,commissioner(理事) for consumer protection of the European Union said China should have kept its promise.
China recently closed three companies linked to the Panama and the pet food scare.And it dismissed the former head of its food and drug administration.He was found guilty of corruption(腐败)for approving unsafe drugs.This week,a conference of the State Council approved a proposed special measure on the supervision of food safety. The Xinhua News Agency said it calls for stronger controls over producers,greater responsibilities for government and more serious punishment for illegal activities.
But Chinese officials have accused some foreign media of overstating problems with goods made in China.They say food imports from the United States also fail inspection sometimes.Next week,American and Chinese food safety officials are planning to hold 5 days of meetings in Beijing to discuss cooperation.
