专题十二 推理判断题
A
(2016·四川“联测促改”)
Have you ever been hurt by words before?I know I have.Words can hurt as much as a hit in the nose or stomach. The words others speak can lower your self-esteem (自尊),but they can also make you feel proud or exited.
One time,as I was playing with my friend and my brother,my brother told an embarrassing secret about me to my friend.I was afraid of what my friend would think! But,instead of laughing at me,she told me that sometimes she did it too.Instead of bringing me down she kept my secret.I’ve never forgotten how she defended me.
When you laugh at people, they feel bad. When you say “you only got 5/20 on the math test”,that’s embarrassing.Words can be used to make you into a bully or make you a friend. You don’t know the effect you can have on people with your words.
Our family did an experiment with rice inspired by Dr.Maseru Emoto’s rice experiment. My mom cooked up some white rice and divided it into two glass jars. One of the jars of rice had a mark with the word “hate” on it;the other was marked “love”.We also “talked” to the jars every day (I know it sounds strange but it’s true). We told the “hate” jar expressions like “I hate you”,“you’re so stupid”,etc...To the “love” jar we said words like “you’re so pretty”.After a week the “love” jar looked like it had barely come out of the pot.The “hate” jar looked like it had moldy cobwebs (发霉的蜘蛛网) inside of it.Now it has been four weeks since we started. The rice in the “hate” jar is sticking to the bottom like soup. The rice in the “love” jar looks fresh.Even my sisters, who can’t read, can tell the difference!
People act just like the rice in their own ways. They can either grow,be proud of themselves, and grow well or they can wither (枯萎) inside. As Dr.Emoto says,“Don’t undervalue the power of thoughts. They have the ability to change the world.”

2.How would the author feel if her friend laughed at her when she knew her secret?(no more than 4 words)

4.What did the rice in the “love” jar look like one week from the start?(no more than 5 words)

A 14-year-old girl was attacked by a grey bear while competing in a bike race. She managed to whisper the “bear” to her rescuer. The girl had serious head, neck and leg wounds. Now she is in a dangerous condition in hospital.
The girl was taking part in a 24-hour race through Bicentennial Park in Alaska when she was attacked by the bear.Bicentennial Park is next to Chugach State Park where some wild animals live.
The animal attacked the girl in a heavily wooded area at about 1:30 am.The girl called emergency services but she was unable to say any word.Another rider Peter Basinger found her lying unconscious on the ground. He told Anchorage Daily News that she managed to say the word “bear” when he stopped to help. Her helmet(头盔)had been knocked off in the attack and rolled into the woods.Mr Basinger waited with the girl for about 20 minutes until doctors arrived.Armed police travelled 3 km with doctors to pick up the girl.
Animal expert Rick Sinnot said something must be done as soon as possible to prevent the bear from attacking people again.“It was extremely terrifying,” he said.
