阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C、D)中,选出最佳选项。Several years ago I was diagnosed with cancer. It was the most difficult time I have ever faced. I think it was my sense of humor that allowed me to hold onto my sanity (心智健全). Like many people who have gone through chemotherapy (化疗), I lost all of my hair, being bald as a golf ball. I always had enjoyed wearing hats, so I ordered several special hats with the hair already attached. It was easy and I never had to worry about how my hair looked.

I have always been a big golf fan. At one point during my cancer treatments, my husband John and I decided to get away from the cold Minnesota winter and took a trip to Scottsdale, Arizona. There was a Senior PGA Tour even called “The Tradition” being played, and that seemed like just the ticket to lift my spirits.

The first day of the tournament brought out a huge crowd. It was a beautiful day, and I was in heaven, I was standing and watching my three favorite golfers in the world approach the tee box (开球区): Jack Nicklaus, Raymond Floyd and Tom Weiskopf.

Just as they arrived at the tee, the unimaginable happened. A huge gust of wind came up from out of nowhere and blew my hat and hair right off my head and into the middle of the fairway (球道)! The thousands of people lining the fairway fell into an awkward silence, all eyes on me. Even my three favorite golfers were watching me, as my hair was in their flight path. I was ashamed! Embarrassed as I was, I knew I couldn’t just stand there. Someone had to do something to get things moving again.

So I took a deep breath and out into the middle of the fairway. I took hold of my hat and hair, put them back on my head as best I could. Then I turned to the golfers and loudly announced, “Gentlemen, the wind is blowing from left to right.”

They said the laughter could be heard all the way to the nineteenth hole.

【由山东省2016高考仿真冲刺卷()阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。“Long time no see” is a very interesting sentence. When I first read this sentence from an American friend’s email,I laughed.I thought it was a perfect example of Chinglish.

Obviously,it is a word-by-word literal translation of the Chinese greetings with a ruled English grammar and structure! Later on,my friend told me that it is a standard American greeting.I was too thrilled to believe her.Her words could not convince me at all.So I did a research on google.com.To my surprise, there are over 60 thousand web pages containing “Long time no see.” This sentence has been widely used in emails, letters, newspapers, movies, books,or any other possible places.Though it is sort of informal,it is part of the language that Americans use daily.Ironically,if you type this phrase in Microsoft Word, the software will tell you that the grammar needs to be corrected.

Nobody knows the origin of this Chinglish sentence. Some people believe that it came from Charlie Chan’s movies. In the 1930s,Hollywood moviemakers successfully created a world wide famous Chinese detective named “Charlie Chan” on wide screens.Detective Chan likes to teach Americans some Chinese wisdom by quoting Confucius.“Long time no see” was his trademark.Soon after Charlie Chan,“Long time no see” became a popular phrase in the real world with thanks to the popularity of these movies.

Some scholars refer to America as a huge pot of stew. All kinds of culture are mixed in the stew together, and they change the color and taste of each other.American Chinese, though a minority ethnic(少数民族的成员) group in the United States,is also contributing some changes to the stew! Language is usually the first thing to be influenced in the mixed stew.

You can have some other examples than adoptions from Chinese, such as pizza from Italian, susi from Japanese, and déjà vu from French etc. There is a long list! Americans do not just simply borrow something from others. They will modify it and make it their own,so you would not be surprised to find a tofu and peanut butter hamburger in a restaurant,or to buy a bottle of iced Chinese green tea with honey in a grocery store.Since Americans appreciate Chinese culture more and more nowadays,I believe more Chinese words will become American English in the future. In this way the American stew keeps adding richness and flavor..The writer himself felt surprised at ______.

A.the Chinglish expression “Long time no see”

B.“Long time no see” used as standard American English

C.so many literal translation of the expressions used in America

D.finding out Americans use the expression every day

2.The word “stew” in the 4th paragraph probably means ______.

  A.mixture literature

  C.a kind of cooked dish

  D.American changing cultures

.According to the passage,it can be inferred that ______.

A.detectives translate the phrase “Long time no see”

B.Hollywood made “Long time no see” popular

C.the huge pot of stew greatly affects all kinds of languages

D.cultures can be changed in the huge pot of stew

4.The main idea of the passage is that ______.

A.some Chinese expressions are introduced into English

B.you’ll not be surprised at a tofu in a restaurant in America

C.some American expressions can be used in China

D.American English keep being enriched from different cultures

5.According to the passage, which of the following statements is not true?

A.Informal language sometimes doesn’t go with grammar and structure.

B.Languages are always ruled by grammar and structure.

C.“Long time no see” has been used in at least four media mentioned in the passage.

D.There are four languages mentioned to be adopted in the American stew.---5、B A B D B

【2016高考训练题】阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C、D)中,选出最佳选项。When we found him, he was a sorry sight. His clothes were torn, his hands bleeding. Before we reached him, we saw him fall. He lay a moment. Then he pulled himself to his feet, walked unsteadily a few yards through the woods and fell again. After we got him out, we went back to find the gun that he had thrown down. His tracks showed that for two days he had circled in the forest, within 200 yards of the road. His senses were so dulled by fear and tiredness that he did not hear the cars going by or see the lights at night. We found him just in time.

This man, like others before him, had simply been frightened when he knew he was lost. What had been a near disaster might have turned out as only a pleasant walk, if he had made a few preparations before he stepped from the highway or off a known path.

Whatever sense of direction that a man may have, it’s still largely a question of observation. A skilled woodsman always keeps an eye on his surroundings. He notes the shape of a mountain, the direction water flows through a swamp, and the way a tree leans across a path. With these in mind, he is still likely to turn around many times, but he is seldom lost.

There are exceptions, of course, and once in a while a man does come across some strange problem that puts him into the “lost” situation. A rainstorm or sudden blizzard may catch him without a compass in his pocket. Darkness may find him in a rough area, where travel is dangerous without a light.

When this happens, the normal first reaction is the fear of being laughed at as a result of his poor knowledge in the woods. He may also be concerned about the inconvenience that he will cause his friends when he doesn’t show up. This false pride may lead him to keep on the move in a false effort to find his way against all difficulties.

The person who thinks ahead is seldom in great danger. He’ll be safe if he observes carefully, thinks ahead, and remains calm.

  A. A Man Lost in the Woods

  B. Timely Rescue in the Woods

  C. Don’t Panic When Lost in the Woods
