.C 从空后的playing basketball and shopping for cartoon books and became great friends我们可以知道,“我”与他们过得很愉快。 pass time意思是“消磨时间”,agree on意思是“同意”,set about开始,着手。
.D 前面讲I met my husband,接下来“我”就结婚了。
.A In most case, stepkids live with their mom and stepdad而我们的情况是“孩子与父亲和继母生活在一起”,因此说unusual。
.A 从后文I wasn’t his mom; I was another person in his life可知,“我”认为到了把各自的角色搞清楚的时候了。
.D 从空后的lots of hugs and laughs我们知道,是彼此“共享”,而不是“有”。
to say hi在这里的意思是“问候一下”,因此是a quick email。
I helped carry items to their car可知她们是来募捐的,“收集(collecting)”捐献物品的。
.D 依据下文you’re right. We forgot the toy…
the sight of…看见……
.C
Duane
draw attention to引起对……的注意;do good to对……有益;add weight增加重量;make use of充分利用。

.A 这位母亲这时眼睛里流露出的应是无助的表情(expression),而不是hope(希望),impression(印象)和anger(愤怒)。
而guilty(有罪的; 内疚的),tiresome(烦人的),numb(麻木的),均不符合文意。
.B come to realize
