Phil Subject:
Organize a trip Hi, Phil, I’d like you to organize a trip to Scotland for us.I have here a group of 32 Chinese students studying in Nottingham University, who want to go on a seven-day tour during the Christmas days.I hope we can have a coach which will take us to Scotland and then bring us back to Nottingham. We also need a guide who speaks standard English and knows Scotland well.I would be very grateful if you can work out an itinerary as soon as possible and tell me about our accommodation,
meals as well as how much each of us has to pay.If you have any information, please either email me to Jackwang@yahoo.com.cn or call me at 07747745007. Looking forward to your early reply.
Yours truly, Jack ? 常用词汇: truly, reply, email, either...or...,look forward to ,would like to... 2. (1) I would be very grateful if you can work out an itinerary as soon as possible and tell me about... (2)If you have any information, please either email me to Jackwang@yahoo.com.cn or call me at 07747745007. ? 例如,“I am writing to enquire about...”或是“I am writing in reference to...” 你可以“Thank you for your company.”或“Thank you for your consideration.”开始, 然后接着写:“If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to let me know.” 及“I look forward to hearing from you.” 1)Because I have to go to attend the Summer Camp in Beijing, I can’t help you with your Chinese this week. 2)I can’t help you with your Chinese this week, because I have to go to attend the Summer Camp in Beijing. These decisions have been a big disappointment to the committee members. They have delayed further action. 开头少用this, that, it, they或 which. He could only reimburse the cost after July 15.应为 He could reimburse the cost only after July 15. I will wait for you at the school gate this morning. I will wait for you at the school gate at 9 o’clock this morning. You will be informed of the time in advance. I will inform you of the time in advance. Yours, Li Hua ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ One possible version: Date:20-11-2011 From:Li Hua111 @l63.com To:Tom_88@hotmail.com Subject:To Tom, Dear Tom, How are you doing? Nice to read your e-mail today.I noticed you’ve begun to use Chinese idioms and used most of them correctly. However, I’m afraid there is one mistake I’d like to point out.It is “do all kinds of bad things(无所不为)”.This idiom means “do all kinds of bad things”.Are you doing all kinds of bad things at home? I guess what you were really trying to say is that you’ve got nothing to do these days.In that case, you should use “have nothing to do(无所事事)”. We usually use “do all kinds of bad things” to express the idea that people dare to do anything bad, and “have nothing to do” to describe the situation in which people have got nothing meaningful to do.Have I made myself clear? Anyway, I’m amazed at the progress you’ve made. Hope you’ll find a good job soon. Yours, Li Hua
