  bore vt.使厌倦;使乏味。接人作宾语。

  bored adj.感到厌倦的,感到乏味的。常用来表示人的感受,所以主语一般是指人的名词或代词。

  boring adj.令人厌倦的;令人乏味的。描述的是物。

  ①The play bored us.这出戏剧令我们感到厌烦。

  separate 意为“隔开”,指把原来连在一起或靠近的分割开来,使之有一段距离,常和from连用。 Asia and Africa are separated from each other by the Suez Canal.

  易混辨析expect,wait与look forward to

  expect后接名词、代词、不定式或从句,强调心理上的“期待”,多用于好的事情,也用于不好的事情;wait强调时间上的“等待”;look forward to后接名词或动名词,指“以特别愉快的心情期待着”,一般用于好的事情。

  ①You can't expect to learn a foreign language in a week.

  你不要指望一个星期就学会一门外语。

  ②We waited half an hour for the bus.我们等公共汽车等了半小时。

  ③I'm looking forward to seeing him.我期待着见到他。

  易混辨析that,those,one,ones与it

  that 主要用于有后置定语的情况。可以代替可数名词单数或不可数名词,但不可替代人。不能用冠词或形容词修饰。 The classroom of Class 1 is bigger than that of Class 2.一班的教室比二班的要大。

  In winter the weather in Beijing is much colder than that in Guangzhou.

  在冬季,北京的天气比广州的天气要冷多了。

  those 是that的复数形式,指“那些”,表示特指,代指提到的或已知的复数名词。 Our computers are as good as those made in America.

  我们生产的电脑和美国生产的一样好。

  one 只能代替可数名词单数,不能代替不可数名词。one代替的是同类中的一个人或物,可用冠词或形容词修饰,表示特指时一般其前加定冠词the。 My watch is broken,and I'm going to buy a new one.

  我的手表坏了,我打算去买块新的。

  ones 是one的复数形式,用来代替可数名词复数。ones也是类指,可以用冠词或形容词来修饰。 Students who do well in examinations are the ones who ask questions in class.考试成绩好的是那些上课爱提问题的学生。

  it 用来代替上文提到的同一事物,还可指代婴儿或性别不详者,不能用冠词或形容词修饰。 Where is my pen?Have you seen it?

  我的钢笔在哪里?你们见过吗?

  Her baby is due next month.She hopes it will be a girl.

  她怀的孩子下个月出生,她希望是个女孩。

  英语中的有些动词,如think,believe,suppose,expect,guess,imagine等,当它们后面接一个具有否定意义的宾语从句时,通常将这些动词变成否定形式,而宾语从句中的谓语动词用肯定形式,这叫做否定转移。否定转移的句子中主句的主语一般是第一人称we和I。

  ①We don't think she has lost the necklace.

  我们认为她没丢项链。

  ②I don't think that they will be back tonight.

  我想他们今晚是不会回来了。

  用法拓展(1)否定转移的句子在使用反意疑问句时,简短问句部分应根据从句反问,用肯定形式。

  (2)若think等动词的主语为第二、三人称时,反意疑问句部分应根据主句反问。主句是否定句,反意疑问句部分用肯定形式;主句是肯定句,反意疑问句部分用否定形式。

  ①I don't think he will attend the meeting,will he?

  我认为他不会参加会议,是吗?

  ②She doesn't think I can pass the exam,does she?

  她不认为我能通过考试,是吗?

  This room is three times as large as that one.

  This room is three times larger than that one.

  The size of this room is three times of that one.

  这个房间是那个房间的三倍大。

  温馨提示注意:两倍时用twice/double表示,三倍或三倍以上则用“基数词+times”来表示。
