我们学英语的时候，年份总是前一半后一半的读，比如1990，就读作nineteen-ninety，但是过了2000年，习惯上就是two thousand 的念法了。比如，Taylor Swift 在巡回演出的时候说的就是，Welcome to the Fearless Tour two thousand nine.
但是，眼看到了2010年，在年份的发音的问题上老外却遇到了麻烦，2010，是应该读作 twenty-ten 呢？还是应该读作two thousand and ten 或者 two thousand ten ? 还有人提议读成two O one O 的。英国的BBC就此问题在一个节目中邀请嘉宾展开了讨论，大部分嘉宾认同twenty-ten的读法，也有嘉宾认同two thousand and ten的读法，如果你看过《2012》的预告片，就会发现片子里面读的是two thousand twelve，最终BBC说这个词的读法不做统一规定。
