世界环境日 World Environment Day

World Environment Day is commemorated each year on June 5th, and started from 1972, which is established by the United Nations General Assembly for raising global awareness to take actions to protect the Nature. The establishment of World Environment Day shows people’s the cognition and the attitude to the environmental problem, and expresses our human beings’ desire of pursuing the better environment. Every year the United Nations Environment Program proposes a theme, and the 2014 theme of this day will focus on ‘Small Island and Climate change’ and the slogan is “Raise Your Voice Not the Sea Level”.

世界环境日为每年的6月5日，起始于1972年，它是联合国为了提高全球的环保意识而创建的。环境日的创立展现了人们对环境问题的认识和态度，表达了人们对美好环境的追求渴望。每一年联合国环境规划署都会提出一个环境日主题，而2014年的主题主要着重于小岛屿与气候变化，今年的口号是“提高你的呼声，而不是海平面”。World Environment Day can be celebrated in lots of ways, for instances, planting trees, doing some recycling, participating the clean-up campaigns and so on. Certainly people can also do something simple, like going to work by bus instead of private cars. I believe if everyone takes environmental actions as a habit, we are doing a big difference for the better environment.庆祝世界环境日的方式多种多样，例如植树，对废物进行循环利用，参加清洁行动等等。当然，人们也可以做些简单的小事来纪念，比如说不做私家车上班，改乘公交车去上班。我相信只要大家都将这些环保小事当作习惯，我们将会为建造美好环境做出重大贡献。
