The Chinese team took home eight gold medals in the 2nd World Taijiquan Championships in Pruszkow, a small town located near the Polish capital Warsaw. The official closing ceremony of the event took place on Thursday.
The event, which lasted four days, was organized by International Wushu Federation and hosted by Polish Wushu Federation. It attracted over 300 competitors from over 31 countries and regions including China, Poland, United States and Malaysia, among others.
In accordance with professional rules, the championship was divided into two types of events: championship events and demonstration events.
The Chinese team consisted of eight members, all of whom beat their opponents and claimed main prizes in events including Optional Routines of Taijiquan, 3rd Set IWUF Compulsory Taijijian, 42 Movements Taijijian.
World Taijiquan Championships is the most important such competition in the world, and is organized on a regular basis every two years. The first one took place in Chengdu, the capital of the Sichuan province.
