Spanish first division side Barcelona said on Monday that midfielder Andres Iniesta might skip the club's Spanish Cup clash with Almeria on Wednesday after he sprained his back during a weekend league match.
The 26-year-old Spanish star injured his back during Barcelona's 3-0 win on Saturday over Hercules after a tackle from defender David Cortes.
"He will be kept under observation to determine his availability for Wednesday's game against Almeria," the club said in a statement.
Iniesta has scored seven goals in 31 appearances for Barcelona this season.
