In the 4th round of the Sao Paulo state championship, host Santos allowed Sao Caetano to draw 3-3 on Wednesday.
Despite Santos' thirteen goals in four games, Sao Caetano achieved its best result of the tournament.
Elano gave Santos the lead in the 7th minute, scoring off a penalty kick. However, Sao Caetano responded with goals from Artur in the 37th minute and Vandinho in the 45th minute.
Returning to the second half, Santos reclaimed the lead with goals from Keirisson in the 48th minute and another goal from Elano just four minutes later.
As the match was wearing down, so did Santos' defense, allowing Vandinho to dominate and blast his second goal into the Santos' net.
Although disappointed with the result, Santos remains undefeated in the state tournament and stand atop with 10 points.
Sao Caetano earned its first point of the tournament with the draw and improved to nineteenth place.
In the next round of play, Santos will host rivals Sao Paulo on January 30 while Sao Caetano will host Ponte Preta.
