Boston Celtics' forward Kevin Garnett could be forced to stay on bench for several weeks after an MRI confirmed a strained right calf on Thursday.

Celtics president Danny Ainge told WEEI radio on Thursday that Garnett "will be out a couple of weeks at most to be conservative. "

In the game on Wednesday night against Detroit Pistons, Garnett went down with a leg injury, but his teammates couldn't pick him up.

Tracy McGrady scored a season-high 21 points, Tayshaun Prince added 18 and the Detroit Pistons took advantage of the early loss of Garnett to beat the visiting Celtics 104-92 on Wednesday.
