Despite Internacional's disappointing third place finish in the 2010 Club World Cup, the Brazilian team announced Tuesday to renew a contract with head coach Celso Roth through 2011.
Roth arrived at the Brazilian club in July after the dismissal of Uruguayan coach Jorge Fossati. He found immediate success after winning the 2010 Libertadores Cup, falling to the grace of the club's fans and administration.
However, after Internacional suffered the disappointing loss to TP Mazembe in the semifinals of the 2010 Club World Cup, Roth's job was placed into question.
He received the full support of vice president Fernando Carvalho who stated that he believes the coach will give continuity to the hard work developed and produced in 2010.
Roth is also gotten back by his players, who claimed that the coach is a great leader and extremely knowledgeable and a friend to all.
