Augustine Makalakalane, coach of South African national women's soccer team Banyana Banyana, is about to lose his job, the Sowetan newspaper in Johannesburg reported on Monday.
Allegations said that Makalakalane solicited sexual favors from some of the players in his team and the national executive committee of the South African Football Association (SAFA) is to meet on Friday morning where the issue is expected to top the agenda.
The Sowetan reported that SAFA's women's sub-committee has recommended that a woman coach take over the job.
Another Johannesburg newspaper, Sunday World, reported on Sunday that Makalakalane allegedly demanded sexual favors from certain players who were later dropped from the final squad that represented South Africa during the recent African Women's Championship finals near Johannesburg.
