Over 100,000 people have applied to be volunteers for the London 2012 Games, revealed the London Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) on Wednesday.
LOCOG is looking for up to 70,000 volunteers for the London 2012 Games and there have been more than 100,000 people applying to be a Games Maker volunteer at the halfway point in the six week application window.
LOCOG chairman Sebastian Coe said, "We are thrilled with the response we've had so far from people and would like to thank everyone who has already filled in their application form and pledged to lend their time to the greatest show on earth."
Applications will be open until midnight on October 27, 2010.
