Newly-crowned Libertadores Cup winner Internacional came from behind on Sunday in their 15th round match of the Brazilian Championship to draw Atletico-GO 1-1.
Atletico-GO, this year's worst team, scored the first goal. In the 41st minute, Victor Ferraz picked up a loose ball and blasted it into the right corner of the goal, out of reach of Internacional's keeper Renan.
Internacional was able to tie the game in the 66th minute. Off a Andrezinho shot on goal, keeper Marcio deflected the ball. However, Leandro Damiao jumped on the rebound, firing the ball into the back of the visiting team's goal.
The result leaves Atletico-GO in 20th and last place with 10 points. In the 16th round of play, the team will travel to play Palmeiras on August 26.
Internacional remains in seventh place with 21 points. In the next round of play, the team will travel to face Avai on August 25.
