Chilean President Sebastian Pinera confirmed on Sunday that the Odesur South American Games 2014 will be hosted in Santiago.
"The Odesur Games will be hosted in Santiago in 2014 and we expect to be the best hosts in the history in terms of the organization, infrastructure and achievements of our sportsmen," Pinera said during an official ceremony held in the National Stadium of Santiago.
Pinera added that they will invest 50 million U.S. dollars in infrastructure upgrading, the construction of an Olympic pool and the renewal of the central court of the National Stadium.
The Odesur Games will feature some 30 sports and will last between 10 to 12 days with the participation of 21 countries.
