The president of the Palmeiras athlete club, Luiz Gonzaga Belluzzo, officially announced on Tuesday the return of Chilean striker Valdivia.
Valdivia returns to Palmeiras after a brief stay in the United Arab Emirates, playing for Al Ain.
"Al Ain did not want to give up Valdivia. He is idolized there. However, Valdivia wanted to return to Brazil in order to be closer to his family. His second son was recently born. Since he already has a high amount of affinity for Palmeiras, his return was an easy choice," said Belluzzo.
The transaction cost Palmeiras an estimated six million Euros. Valdivia signed a contract valid for five years with Palmeiras.
On Sunday, Palmeiras will host Corinthians in the 12th round of the Brazilian Championship. Palmeiras currently stands in 10th place with 14 points.
