The United States soccer national team welcomed AC Milan defender Oguchi Onyewu and MLS striker Edson Buddle back to the squad in Tuesday's friendly against the Czech Republic.
Onyewu, who tore his left patellar tendon during a qualifier against Costa Rica, is returning for his first match since knee surgery last October and started as a central back in the Czech match.
Buddle, leading scorer of the Major League Soccer, is representing his country for the first time in seven years. Last time he played 11 minutes for the U.S. as a subsittue against Venezuela on March 29, 20003.
U.S. coach Bob Bradley will announce his World Cup squad late on Wednesday.
