Real Madrid will be without the services of club captain Raul Gonzalez for at least the next two weeks the club said on Monday.
Raul hurt his right knee during Saturday's 2-0 home defeat to FC Barcelona and tests carried out on Monday have confirmed that he had damaged his meniscus ligament.
"The injury will keep him out for the next two or three weeks," confirmed the Real Madrid website. That means Raul will be unavailable for Thursday's visit to Almeria, Sunday's home game against third placed Valencia and the following week's visit to Zaragoza.
Raul has made 28 appearances for Real Madrid this season, although he has only started eight times in the La Liga, while making 21 appearances as a substitute.
