Against Bangu, Adriano was activated and placed on the starting roster for Flamengo's Saturday game, together with Vagner Love in the Brazilian soccer championship.
"Both players are not in ideal game-shape. However, they will get back into shape quickly and find their rhythm together, " said team head coach Andrade.
"I am extremely nervous. I cannot wait to play, but I hope all my anxiety goes away once I am on the field, otherwise I may end up playing poorly, " said Vagner Love, who will wear jersey number 9 in his first ever game with Flamengo.
Another player making his 2010 debut is Leonardo Moura. The fullback underwent surgery in mid December of 2009 to remove a tumor in his nose.
With the return of Moura and Adriano, along with the addition of Vagner Love, the team is full of excitement.
Equally thrilled are the fans of Flamengo who are expected to fill the Engenhao stadium when Bangu hosts Flamengo on Saturday afternoon. The game was moved to Engenhao as Bangu's home stadium, Moca Bonita, was considered unfit to host the game.
The only other players that have not returned to the regular starting line-up at Flamengo are Juan and Willians.
