Argentine soccer player Leandro Fleitas, who had an injury in his skull, recovered consciousness but at permanent medical evaluation, the doctors said on Monday. Fleitas, player of Peruvian club Alianza Lima, was injured whenhe was playing against Carlos Galvan in a match against Peruvian club Universitario, with both strongly crashed.
Fleitas lost consciousness and had convulsions. The x-ray showed an injury in his right parietal, the doctors said.
Alianza Lima's doctor, Luis Parra said on Monday morning that "there are many expectations regarding a favorable evolution" and the main concern is to know if Fleitas "has or not a brain edema."
"Despite we have to wait, fortunately I see him more calmed. He has not lost the knowledge and I have been talking with him. Leandro knows what is going on and he is in a good mood," Parra said.
Universitario and Alianza Lima were plying the second leg of the play-offs, in which Universitario won, making it to win the local tournament after nine years of defeats.
