Mexican international striker Antonio De Nigris died of suspected heart attack at the age of 31, his Greek first division club Larissa announced on Monday. The official cause of death will be announced by the General University Hospital of Larissa following an autopsy.
Local press reports said that De Nigris had complained of not feeling well during the night of Sunday to Monday and his wife called for an ambulance.
De Nigris was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
He had joined Larissa in the summer from Ankaragucu and played in six league matches for the club.
