After scoring the only goal in Flamengo's 1-0 victory over Botafogo, Adriano was a no-show at Monday's team practice without official response or justification from the team's administrative department. Adriano is currently tied for the most amount of goals scored in this year's Brazilian Championship. Both Adriano and Diego Tardelli from Atletico-MG have scored 16 goals. Both players are also members of the Brazilian national team.
Flamengo's practice also saw Petkovic sit out, complaining of pain in his right thigh. The player received physical therapy during the team practice. Regardless of his recovery, he will be unable to play in Wednesday's game against Barueri as the striker received his third yellow card in Sunday's match against Botafogo.

Only seven rounds of play remain in this year's championship. Flamengo stands in fifth place with 51 points. They have made an impressive run for the title, putting together a 10-game undefeated streak.
Palmeiras remains in first place with 54 points, followed closely by Atletico-MG with 52 points and Internacional and Sao Paulo with 52 points. The title is definitely up for grabs with only weeks remaining in the Brazilian Championship.
