Rafael Nadal was recalled to the Spanish team for the semifinal of tennis' Davis Cup by captain Albert Costa. Spain plays Israel in Murcia over the weekend of Sept. 18 and 21.
The Spanish number one missed the quarterfinal clash against Germany because of knee problems which also saw him miss out on this year's British Open at Wimbledon and cost him his place as number one in the World ATP rankings.
Nadal is currently third behind Roger Federer and Andy Murray, but as his performances in the U.S. Open, where he has qualified for the quarterfinals, he is returning to his best form.
Nadal's return has seen changes in the side which beat Germany 3-2 in a thrilling quarterfinal tie with Juan Carlos Ferrero losing his place, while Fernando Verdasco is suffering from physical problems.
The four-man team for the tie is Rafael Nadal, David Ferrer, Feliciano Lopez and Tommy Robredo.
