实用口语:如何表达和人“竞争”？

如何表达竞争，可以用“compete”这个动词，意思是“竞赛; 竞争”，“比得上, 媲美”，如：

Who could compete in the Olympics? 什么样人可以参加奥运会?

These products are of high quality and able to compete internationally. 这些产品品质很好, 在国际市场上有竞争能力。

那么，想表达与某人，或某个竞争对手竞争，或比得上竞争对手时，可以在“compete”后面加一个介词“with/against”，然后在“with/against”后面加上竞争对手就可以了：

We can't compete against our overseas competitors.

我们工厂竞争不过海外的对手。

The firm is too small to compete against large ones.

这家公司太小，不能与大公司抗衡。

You cannot compete with those postgraduates.

你无法和那些研究生竞争。

My handwriting cannot compete with his.

我的书法不及他。

We can compete with the best teams.

我们能与最好的团队竞争。

顺便提一句, “compete”的名词形式是”competition”, 当我们形容竞争很激烈时,可以这样来说: The competition is rather intense. 这场竞争相当激烈.
