Kevin Federline had agreed to give Britney Spears the visitation rights with their two young sons, nearly two months after she last saw them, media reported on Sunday. Federline attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan said in a statement that the former couple have agreed to a modification of a court order that had stripped Spears of her visitation rights.
"James Spears (Britney's father) went a long way in terms of stabilizing an environment that surrounded Britney which was wildly in flux," said Elliot Mintz, a spokesman for Kaplan and Federlinesaid. "It's clear Britney is in a different place now than she was a week or two ago."
The 26-year-old pop star hadn't been allowed to see her two sons since an incident at her home that led to the first of her two hospitalizations in a psychiatric facility this year and a decision by another court to put James Spears in charge of her affairs.
Before the hospitalizations, the American singer, once one of the world's biggest pop stars, has spiraled downwards since her divorce last year from Federline. She shaved her head, was seen in public without underwear, ran over a celebrity photographer's foot and attacked a vehicle with an umbrella, among other strange outbursts.
Although the exact custody details were unknown, Kaplan said that visits would be taking place in the immediate future.
