　　听惯了用look out表达“当心”，假期和老外出去游玩，若从他嘴里冒出一句“Listen, It's Katie bar the door!”，估摸您会丈二和尚摸不着头脑。“Katie bar the door”也表示“当心”，与“look out”相比，含有那么一丝诙谐意。 “Katie bar the door”源于一首风趣搞笑的苏格兰民歌“Get up and bar the door”（《起床来把门闩上》）。歌中唱道：就寝前，夫妻二人比着不上门闩，最后夫妻俩决定，谁先开口说话谁就起身去拴门。两个人就这么紧绷嘴唇较上了劲儿，谁知半夜盗贼乘虚而入，不但劫财劫物，还对这对“哑巴”夫妻实施许多恶行。后来，丈夫忍无可忍终于厉声质问盗贼，Katie（妻子）就在这时开了腔：“你输了，去上门闩”。由于在歌曲的高潮部分，丈夫反复唱着“Katie bar the door”，该短语遂被公众采用。随着时间的推移，“Katie bar the door！”逐渐演变为警告语：“当心、小心”。看下面一个例句： Listen, it's Katie bar the door! Here comes trouble! （听着，当心点，麻烦要来了！）
