华能集团、用友软件、通元高速公路、东方家园等知名企业在招聘新员工时，对全国英语等级考试（PETS）成绩的认可度越来越高，拥有PETS成绩证书的求职者，应聘的成功率会大幅提升。这是记者昨天从市教育考试指导中心获悉的。
“PETS”成名企招聘的“通行证”
全国英语等级考试是面向全社会、以全体公民（除义务教育阶段学生外）为对象的非学历性证书考试，共分5级，主要测试应试者实际英语交际能力。近年来，考生人数逐年增长，最火爆时，仅北京地区每年就有近十万人次参加考试，是国内最受追捧的英语考试之一。同时，社会上对PETS的认可度也大幅提升，目前已替代了高自考中的专科和本科考试中的公共英语考试；有的地区正在试点，让PETS取代大学英语四、六级考试；一些大公司录用有英语专长的新员工时也不再单独命题，而是选择PETS试卷或直接认可PETS成绩。
“这主要是PETS测试系统能全面有效地反映考生的英语能力。”据北京教育考试中心副主任胡海介绍，PETS主要以语言交际需要为掌握外语的目的，根据各种情景和任务，在特定的主题和语境下进行教学或考查，正好符合职场的英语人才的选拔标准。
