很多同学在提高SAT阅读的方法上存在两大误区，SAT阅读是整个SAT考试中所占比例最大也是对大部分学生最困难的部分，一般来说，SAT考试的每个部分对于学生来说都有不同的困难，我们这里所说的两个误区主要是指：
1.提高SAT阅读的方法主要在于单词量。许多学员错误地认为做不好SAT阅读主要是因为词汇不够，并花绝大部分时间主攻单词，甚至去背许多完全没有必要在SAT考试上不会出现的GRE单词。其实SAT主要考察是学生逻辑思考的紧密性和对较深文章的理解能力，单词虽然重要，单也只是一个基础，花大部分准备时间去背单词是很不明智的。
2.提高SAT阅读的方法主要靠考试技巧。实际情况是大部分上课时讲的天花乱坠的技巧在真考时没有时间，也没有机会使用。相反倒是一些最简单的阅读方法和习惯能起到更好的作用。另外在提高SAT阅读时，切忌只用SAT练习题提高，一定要阅读一些SAT以外的英文作品，小说，杂志，报纸甚至是戏剧剧本，只要是比较复杂艰深的对提高阅读都会有作用。
