1.mortify v. 使...受辱, 抑制
He felt mortified for his mistake.

2.pique [pi:k] n. 生气, 愤怒 v. 伤害...自尊心, 激怒
He was piqued to discover that he hadn't been invited.

Complacency is the enemy of study.
